“The Recess” competes in the Goya Awards qualifying “45th Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche (FICIE)“ in Spain
It's our pleasure and honor to announce that “The Recess” (Spanish: “El Recreo”) directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad has been selected to compete in the official short films competition section of the prestigious 45th Elche International Independent Film Festival (Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche, abbreviated as FICIE), which takes place in the city of Elche (Alicante province, Spain) from July 8-22.
Recognized as a Goya Awards qualifying festival by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, the Elche International Independent Film Festival (FICIE) is one of the most prestigious and long-standing film festivals in Spain.
The Spanish-Iranian short drama “The Recess” has competed in 106 international film festivals including FIAPF-accredited, Goya Awards qualifying festivals and Academy Award® qualifying festival around the world and has won 20 awards.
Directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad and produced by Navid Nikkhah Azad and Spanish producer Delia Guerra Parra, “The Recess” brings the story of the self-immolated Sahar Khodayari (Iranian Blue Girl) to life.
