Introduce Yourself : Nicole Thompson, Soprano Vocalist / Arts Administrator / Graphic Designer by Nicole Thompson

Hi Everyone, I'm Nicole Thompson. I'm seeking opportunities to sing around the Cape Fear region. Typically I perform as a duo with pianist, but would love to expand my horizons! :) I'm a classically trained singer, and have been performing mostly jazz standards lately, mixed with a few cool Broadway tunes, and some nostalgic pop music. Influences include Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, as well as Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Eva Cassidy, etc. I sing once a month at Ted's Fun on the River in Wilmington, with Jeff Simmons on piano (formerly of The Carolina Opry). I'm also the Soprano Section Leader at St. James Episcopal Church in downtown Wilmington. During the day, I work part-time at the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, as their Development Assistant. This is a new job for me, and I'm loving it! I've worked in arts and entertainment for my entire career, and my background is extremely diverse.
