My life's work has been to capture character in the human face and attempt to understand each person's path to that moment.... In this type of portraiture, I portray expressed emotion and experiences of people reflected in their faces and gestures. In a quickly developed relationship, I put the subject at ease for that moment with a kind word or gesture – it results in a timely connection. For this and carefully composed imagery of man-made objects mingling with the natural landscape, it is important to utilize available light for the best effect on the first take.
