Hi. My name is KC Steward and I am a screenwriter from the Chicago area. I have written four complete screenplays--three I considered part of my learning curve, but one that I'm looking to use as my calling card. It is a rom-com set in the world of youth basketball, which would appeal to both genders. It placed in the top 15% in the Nicholl's competition, which was great because there are thousands of entrants. I'd like to get to know others in the field to network and get a movie made and beyond that it is sometimes isolating being a writer in the Midwest. I encourage everyone to keep looking ahead except when looking down at a pen and pad (how I love to write).
Welcome, K...Great to have you here on 32. The screenwriting community here is the most supportive and talented anywhere on the web, in my humble opinion. I have two suggestions that will help you out immediately. One, add a headshot - Many 32'ers will not network someone who does not put a face to the name. Also, a profile with a headshot is eligible to be listed in all search results and other areas of the site. Two, add your profession to your profile. If you are a screenwriter, list yourself as such. Again, this will make your profile eligible for all areas of the site screenwriter centric. It also gives people who see your profile a clear view of what you do. Once again, welcome to the community!
