Introduce Yourself : Ritchie Johnston by Ritchie Johnston

Hey, I'm Ritchie Johnston, a writer based out of Leeds, I have been writing pretty much constantly throughout the last three- four years, I aspire to write at least, one televsion series and a movie of each genre within the next four to five more years! I love a challenge and have already written my first couple of television pilots, the first is called four twenty, a supernatural comedy that follows a redundant computer programmer, who bumps into an old friend, who passes away in a bizarre incident but leaves our protagonist with an inheritance he doesn't want, a world full of problems and a house guest who can't leave. That is one of my pitches out at the moment and I also have another project that was really my start out project. When I started writing I didn't have a clue and I started with a piece called Stoned which follows a heartbroken, down on his luck Stoner, finds that it can get a lot worse when he comes into possession of a box that leads to a conspiracy involving his missing brother and his ex-girlfriends new beau. When I started out I knew this story and had my beginning middle and end, which I have since written into eight scripts. I am working hard on this as I think this if in the right hands could be awesome little hit, but I got a bit nervous when I contemplated the idea of shooting a table read, mainly due to the fact I hadn't gotten the proffessional feedback that I since got. Anyway I took the time, the feedback and knowledge I gained and reworked it into a hopefully correctly formatted little story filled with clowns, cannabis and conspiracy, its part comedy, its part drama, its all fun and will leave you hooked on what happens next at every moment, I currently have this on Amazon Studios but am now confident to the point where I think that I would like to go down the kickstarter route, but first I need to find an awesome like minded director who can help me in getting up and running as that is a ball game I'm not quite sure of yet! But life is full of challenges hey! Anyway thats me!
