She is on the literary panel for the Royal National Theatre. XY – HOW DO WE CONSTRUCT A CHARACTER IN A GENDER-BLIND PLAY? Using some of the plays that have formed part of the acclaimed short play festival XY, this workshop will look at and explore how gender informs both the actors understanding of character and impacts audience perception. This will involve staging ‘gender-blind’ plays in a number of different casting formations (eg. a 2-hander scene with 2 men, then 2 women) fuelling discussion and feedback within the group and back to the players specifically as to how this informed their understanding of character. This will be actioned with 3 or four different plays with a view to getting as wide a scope of understanding on this subject as possible. _________________________________________________________________________________ See you tomorrow! -- TRANSMISSION /// www.transmissionworkshop.com info@transmissionworkshop.com 07806751378 TWITTER www.twitter.com/TransWorkshop FACEBOOK www.facebook.com/pages/Transmission-Workshop/147586341936673 Ursula Campbell, Producer+Co-Founder, TRANSMISSION Melanie Bond, Co-Founder, TRANSMISSION
