New Film Maker would be very grateful for feedback

I'm new to film making and would be very grateful for your feedback on a 5 min film I recently completed. Many thanks. https://shootingpeople.org/watch/119699/smoking-haddock

Not bad at all. It could use some music at the beginning, or probably a richer sound base of foley to fill out the room. Script and acting were good. Shooting into the window is a bad idea without controlling the light. It would have been better to stop down and bring in fill light (or bounce). There were a few shots where it looked like the DP ran outside with the car alarm too and forgot to pay attention to camera framing. Editing and location audio are quite acceptable. Finally the colors of the shots vary. It could be visually improved tremendously with color correction. In summary the best improvement would have come from improving the camera and lighting work, and what can be done on this one now is color correction, and an improved sound landscape (talk to a sound designer). Overall, very nice job.

I will echo Cory and Lyse's comments. Very well done! And I agree with the idea of adding some sound/music to the intro. Also, to get this video more exposure, add a head shot. This will allow for your posts and your profile to be included in all search results and networking areas of the site. Good luck!

Thank you so much Amahra, Cory, Lyse and Richard for taking the time and trouble to look at and comment on my film. It's much appreciated. I've taken on board all your comments and I will carry them to my next production. What a great community!! :-)

Well done, I just watched this and it made me smile. Good acting and some nice camera work. As some of the other comments suggest there is room for some Colour correction and grading to improve the overall look, but I'm sure you will learn all about this as your film making career develops.
