Introduce Yourself : A man named Giacomo by Giacomo Knox

A man named Giacomo

Hey all, you've probably seen my several threads on "No I will Not read your F***ing Script", so you know that I'm a man of strong opinion. Ironic to say the least, because I grew up painfully shy, and could only express myself through writing poetry and short stories. Even there, I was afraid to tackle certain subjects and push boundaries. Originally from Newark, NJ, raised partly in Seattle and Ft. Wayne, Indiana. I'm a graduate of Seton Hall University '92, and I served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 87-92. I'm a veteran of Desert Storm, which might be where I get my Devil-May-Care attitude of late. I lived in L.A. from 1993 to 2013, where I pursue and mostly CAUGHT a career in Acting and Screenwriting, though I never really broke through until I created a Reality TV pilot called "A Week With My Father." The show reunited me and my father in a social experiment, putting us together for a one-week reunion. The show was picked up by Red Arrow International for distribution, and is currently being shopped all over the world. I am a Producer, Screenwriter, Stuntman, and commercial Actor. I even have a voiceover reel, and I write song lyrics! No grass growing under my feet! I moved to Dallas this February, in order to find a less chaotic and affordable (!) lifestyle. Next week I'll be attending the Austin Film Festival to pitch and promote two of my screenplays "LUG" and "The Losers Club", so if you're there, be sure to say hello! I emptied my back account so I could afford a Producers Badge, so hopefully my investment will pan out! And I hope to make your acquaintance there, or around the film biz!

The Creative Process, The Successful Artist, always comes from the back ground of the tormented, it is the suffering that is endured that brings out the understanding and supplies insight for other's to admire, Failure is the Pressure Cooker that either brings us great success or ends the victim of this suffering.Through Human failings and endless Suffering creates fantasy, suffering searches for an answers and over a period of time, tells stories that Rich Children cannot, A True Artist always retains its suffering to themselves, they don't go on "Oprah" to cry about it, those that don't know how to suffer cannot be True ARTIST...

Excellent work Mr. Knox. I wish you the best. I attended a film festival in Austin a few weeks ago. Nice city. I think you made a good choice with Dallas.
