Introduce Yourself : Not Your Typical Stage 32 Member by Jeffrey Doman

Not Your Typical Stage 32 Member

Greetings. Let me say at the start that I am not your typical Stage 32 member. My name is Jeffrey Doman. Currently, I have no direct connection with the entertainment industry. However, through golf and tennis, I have a sports connection with Chicago actor, Richard Alpert. Having seen Richard Alpert perform on screen and stage, I have become an avid follower of his craft. In addition, my son, David Doman, is a music producer in Los Angeles with aspirations to have his beats heard in film. Furthermore, my daughter, Andrea Doman, is an emerging musical talent manager in New York City, where she will be completing her college studies next year. I have long been interested in the arts although my career has been in construction management. During the 1970s and 1980s, I was interviewed on radio and television programs as well as quoted in newspapers, in my capacity as a Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) staff focusing on alleviating poverty conditions in lower income neighborhoods in cities throughout the United States. I also wrote articles, reports and testimony for congressional hearings on community development needs that were televised in some of the first programs for Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network (CSPAN.) My long range goal is to engage the media on behalf of groups such as "Beyond Sport" a global organization that promotes, develops and supports the use of sport to create and inspire positive social change at locally-based community improvement projects in impoverished areas around the world.

Thank you, Emily.

Kathryn, I appreciate your consideration. Having read your profile, I better be brief with my remarks since your busy schedule of activities shouldn't leave you any spare time to read extraneous messages such as this. Seriously though, it is rare to find someone as multi-talented as yourself. You are either very naturally gifted or you must be a 24/7 talentaholic.

Tabitha Baumander

I'm a little confused as to what you see yourself getting out of a connection on this site?

Jeffrey Doman

Tabitha, you raised a good point. Actually, I asked myself the same question before I reluctantly decided to join this network. First of all, it is obvious that currently, coming from a different industry, there is no logical reason for me linking up to Stage 32. However, logic does not always determine our actions and direction in life. I am sure there are many stories with happy endings we have all heard about that were not based on logic. Hopefully, in the end, my story, although illogical, will be happy, too, along with being mutually beneficial for Stage 32 and myself if it all works out. Based on early returns from the network, so far so good regarding sharing experiences and getting the most out of it.

You've joined a social-networking site centred on a field that interests you. Makes sense to me - you never know, with networking!

Debbie Elicksen

Kathrynne is right. You never know what is around that corner. You can only see through the window, not what is on the horizon. Welcome to the community, Jeffrey.

Pat Savage

Welcome to Stage 32 Jeffrey! Good luck with all you do and dream and have fun and great success networking here :)

Rachael Saltzman

That's pretty typical of the members here.

Pat Savage

what's pretty typical of the members here?

Merri Christi Pemberton

Welcome Jeffrey! You have a very exciting background.

Jeffrey Doman

Merri Christi Pemberton, Thanks for your welcome. Read your profile. Impressed by all that you've done and all that you're doing.

Jeffrey Doman

Kathrynne Wolf, Thanks for your encouragement.

Jeffrey Doman

Debbie Elicksen, I appreciate your words of wisdom.

Jeffrey Doman

Pat Savage, Thanks, I'll try my best.

Jonathan Kramer

Jeffrey.. congrats and welcome to the community. I'd be curious to learn more about your son David and the type of music he composes. We are in development of an exciting feature that requires original music with roots in the various genres that appeared during the most iconic music period in history (60s-80s). If his compositions are more on the electronic/urban type, it's probably not a fit. Thanks and all the best.

Jeffrey Doman

Jonathan, Thank you very much for welcoming me to the Stage 32 Network and inquiring about my son, David's, musical production work. You can review David Doman's complete musical production discography on Wikipedia. Also, please feel free to contact David Doman directly regarding your musical project at the following email address: da.music8@gmail.com I will be interested to follow up with you on the progress of your intriguing musical project.

Des Nnochiri

Welcome, Jonathan. I think it's safe to say with a background as diverse as yours, you'll fit right in.

Diane Knaus

Yes, welcome our diverse backgrounds are what makes us who we are in accepting each others works. Good luck.

Jeffrey Doman

Diane, Thanks for your consideration and inclusiveness.
