Don't give up on your passion ever. I don't feel her post is misplaced at all. The message she'd like to get across to a large group of people is to not treat people who work as background actors with disrespect. It's valid, given the topic of the post. There's also a big difference, Sean, between disagreeing with someone, and throwing out personal insults. Doesn't matter how large your network is. Nobody wants to work with someone who shows a lack of professionalism, especially in public forums.

Although, Laura, I really don't feel that the word "background" is in any way comparable to the word "negro". That aside, stay strong in your battle with cancer.

SAG-AFTRA: Exclusive Post-Merger Details By NIKKI FINKE | Monday January 30, 2012 @ 3:57pm PST Tags: SAG AFTRA Merger EXCLUSIVE: I have obtained new and confirmed details about the proposed union formed by the SAG-AFTRA Merger as approved by the National Boards Of Directors. To date, neither SAG nor AFTRA have released any referendum package details. The memberships will be asked to vote on the referendum package shortly. It is vital for each actor and performer to know how their unions will change because of the merger: 67 New Dues Structure: New Initiation Fee: $3,000 (Previously $1,600 at AFTRA, $2,230 at SAG) What you should know: AFTRA has refused to suspend its “open door policy” during the interim before merger passes or fails. Which means that from now until the effective date, anyone with $1,600 can walk up to the AFTRA cashier and join. Meaning they won’t have to pay the difference between $1,600 and post-merger $3,000. “This potential flood of newbies will absolutely kill the background community,” one of my sources says. New Base Dues: $198.00 (Previously $116 at SAG.) New Work Dues For Actors 1.575% with a cap of $500,000 Maximum work and base dues: $8,073 For Broadcasters: Tier 1: $0 – $100,000 – 1.575% Tier 2: $100,001-$250,000 – .274% ($250,000 cap) Maximum work and base dues: $2,184 What you should know: Between 60%-70% of SAG members will see their dues increase from $116 to $198 (or +$82). Roughly 30% or less of SAG members will see a decrease believed to be $45 purely due to the fact that they will no longer be paying two dues bills. Broadcasters are getting a huge break on the work dues percentage after $100,000 and a big break on the maximum work and base dues. Union vs Non-Union: Broadcasters in the new union will still be allowed to work non-union (CNN, CNBC, ESPN, MSNBC, etc…) and make tens of thousands of dollars without owing any dues on that money. Actors in the new union will still be prohibited from working non-union. New Entrance Structure: Previous members of either SAG or AFTRA or both prior to merger are automatically a member of the new SAG-AFTRA union. The three voucher system is one of the entrance requirements. If non-union actors can prove they have been trying to organize non-union work, they can become a member of the new SAG-AFTRA union. Unclear is how they will be able to prove that or how the union will be able to substantiate the proof. New Leadership, Old Staff: Convention will be the highest governing body. It will meet only every 2 years. There will be 80 Board members, including 10 national officers: President, Executive VP, Secretary Treasurer, and 7 more VPs. The President and the Secretary/Treasurer will be directly elected, as will the 60 board seats. The 8 remaining officers will be elected via convention. Executive Vice President is elected via convention. Everyone elected will be eligible to receive monthly salaries which could include assistance with qualifying for health insurance. What You Should Know: The President is now mostly a figurehead. The Executive Vice President is the most powerful position. Although actors will make up the overwhelming majority of the new union, that power will not be reflected on the Board or on committees. Hollywood will no longer hold the majority on the new union’s Board or any of its committees even though Hollywood represents over 60% of the membership and brings in over 65% of the new union’s revenue. All currently employed SAG and AFTRA staff keep their jobs after merger. Pension and Health: No study was done. Only a cursory review. There are no laws prohibiting the merging of the plans. Retirees are protected by federal law. Accrued pension credits cannot be eliminated. Which means that any member who has accrued pension credits prior to merger will have those credits after merger. What You Should Know: There is still a huge discrepancy between SAG’s and AFTRA’s health and retirement plans. No answers will be provided in time for the referendum package with regard to what will happen to the plans after the unions merge. Questions left hanging include whether the plans will be combined or frozen and what the new eligibility requirements and premiums will be. Also unanswered if what happens if SAG’s or AFTRA’s pension plans dip into the ‘yellow’ or ‘red’ zone which then reduces the guaranteed dollar value of what the retiree is expecting. Also still fuzzy is what happens to the overwhelming majority of members who have not earned enough pension credits to be considered ‘vested’ and still need to earn pension credits to reach that threshold. Bottom line, VOTE NO!!!! SAVE SAG!!! PLEASE pass this on to every SAG Member you know!!!

Interesting tip for you, Bob. The Fairness in Music Act of 1998 says that any music performed for the sake of charity is exempt from paying royalties. (This is why we helped more people form more non-profits in Massachusetts than anybody else!) ~Harmony Hill, protecting the rights of real people who have to work for a living!

Oh, by the way, here's a quote from musician Carleton Raymond concerning Harmony Hill: "You saved my house!! Thanks for all the volunteer labor!! The Musician's Union up here closed down for lack of money. You guys are the only ones that stand up and really help musicians on the North Shore!" (Of course, this was written a few years back. Others have been spurred on by our example of unselfish devotion to help others in the music industry ever since then.)

I would ask people to stop telling others to not so socialize with other networks just because they are using a new network. Because when they started out they were using that network so now that they have decided to move on they talk negatively about the other. Don't they know that social networking is a numbers game I don't care how you try to dress it up. Those same people with find a new network within the next few months then that network will be the cats meow and they will be telling folks not to use that network they left. Socializing is a global thing get as much exposure as you like from as many networking sites you like as long as you can handle them. Try to show some ♥Loyalty Love to other people networks by unfollowing them just because you have not heard from them in a couple of weeks. Remember Rome was not built in a day! Keepin it Real :D

OH, Julia!! Here's an interesting reply to your comment. I was in the hospital with a kidney stone, in excruciating pain. And I knew from my spiritual correspondence chart that kidney stones in the natural are a manifestation judging others in the spiritual. So, I began forgiving everyone I could possibly think of, expecting for God to miraculously heal me. When I couldn't think of anyone else, God spoke to me and said, "While you're forgiving everyone else, don't forget to forgive yourself!" It hit me like a ton of bricks! So, stunned, I prayed and forgave myself. Instantly, the pain went away!! And then, suddenly, I had to go to the bathroom. I pee'd through some tissue paper and sure enough, the stone passed easily and without pain!! So, remember Mark's advice. Jesus can help you to forgive all those things that we ourselves could never do on our own. (Again, Mark, great tip!!!)

Just what I thought, lots of nice talk, enigmatic platitudes, but no action,... common. Well, let's try it again! I have a woman here who is seeking help. She discovered that her husband was involved with pornography. When she confronted him, instead of making a change in his life for the better, he divorced her and hired an attourney to make her look like trash. He now has custody of the two girls, and tried to prevent her from getting visitation. However when the visitation took place, the grandmother happened to notice bruises all over the girls legs, backsides and lower backs, and she made a public scene. As a result, the husband's lawyer bribed the judge and got visitation reduced to supervised visitation, along with a gag order against the mother and grandmother from making comments. In the meantime, day-care workers (where the children are kept by the husband while he works) have privately and confidentially contacted the mother to alert her of further abuse to the children, and that the state of New Hampshire refuses to act to protect the children. Also, articles are starting to appear in New Hampshire newspapers about the corruption in the court and child protective services division. OK, that's it. Any takers?? or are you just going to sit back in your plush easy chair and tell her how successful she can be? Who wants to get their hands dirty with hard work?

No, this is reality! real drama, real people. If someone would like to turn it into a movie, the facts are very rich with drama. The wife and mother thought that by being "nice" to her husband, he would repent. Instead he got worse, and nearly put her in the grave. She almost committed suicide a few weeks ago.

No, she has to go public. I tried to get her an interview on "An Overall View" but the executive producer is afraid of reprisals. So, I'm going to make a YouTube video to try and garner some support for her. Personally, from the Stage32 community, I need emotional and intellectual support and advise to best approach and resolve this issue. A national celebrity, who I am not allowed to name, told us that we have to go public, and we have to go public now. I don't mind risking my life, I just want to do it with wisdom. The grandmother is Della Rita Rossetti, daughter of the well-known millionaire of the 70's. She ran away from home, and found shelter among the Hell's Angels in California, who protected her from her father's abuse in a huge stand-down in California. She was known across America by the code name "Little Sister". But she and her daughter Angela, who is the mother of the two little girls in question, now live in the Beverly/Salem area. Angela is a Christian, and she has tended to side with her husband believing that her grace and mercy toward him would help soften his heart to repentance. But as time goes on, it appears that he is totally unrepentant and getting worse. She is fearful for the girls safety and has no where to turn. If you were in her shoes, what would you do??

He lives in New Hampshire. And I just found out today that he works at a mental health facility and has access to the patient's drugs. Everyone has been wondering where his unusual wealth is coming from, especially since his last house foreclosed and he just bought a new one. And he doesn't seem to earn enough money at work to cover all his expenses. No one is sure how he is coming up with this spare capital. The previous judge got removed from the case, for some unknown reason. But the husband's lawyer was overheard in the parking lot concerning some kind of bribe money, in a heated discussion with the husband who is represented by her. The new judge is a woman and is asking questions that the previous judge never asked. So there is some hope. The new judge is asking the kind of questions that a judge asks when she feels there may have been a previous "rush to judgment" on behalf of the previous judge. I think she is already sensing that there is something seriously wrong in this case. At least that's what we hope. A number of newspaper articles are starting to appear about corruption in the court system and child protective services, with regards to the porn industry in New Hampshire.

If we were all put in a position of having to have to literally survive on this planet( like so many of our people all over the world), would you be able to put aside your titles- prestige - low self opinion coming from a poor background or no education - difference of color- , and see each other as equal yet different as people etc... and all pull together as a team to get ourselves out of the mess? Writers don't look for the ugly but when it happens we report it in our stories. You can't read about "ugly" you can only live it so that it rings true in your story conflict.
