16mm Film Processing??

We're shooting a film on 16mm in teh next couple of months and was wondering if anyone a) knows where is the best place to have the film processed and transferred to digital; OR b) Has some sort of discount that could help us get this done for cheaper (we can offer credentials for such assistance) MANY THANKS TO ANY GUIDANCE!!

A lot of this rides on where you're located, where you'll be editing, or at least the proximity of where you'll be shooting. Besides that, you're looking at extra shipping costs, etc. depending on those factors. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of any film processing labs besides one in Miami, which Full Sail University uses to process all the 16mm and 35mm film they go through every month. Sorry I can't be of more help, but remember to take into consideration your location, the proximity of labs in that area, and how much you're willing to spend on shipping. Good luck!

Thanks guys! It is very much a creative choice. But its also a decision we made to push ourselves to learn more about working with film. We did not attend a film school, but all studied media so we have experience working with digital. It will be more expensive (by ALOT) but we're in the process of raising funds from this week to make it happen :) Thanks HEAPS though for the feedback! I hope youll follow the project!

James, are you looking for a lab in Australia or will a lab in the States do?

James Arrow

Hey thanks guys - sorry I didn't get back to you. DeLuxe Labs have a base in Australia which is great! Thanks! Advice and support always welcome :)
