Anyone else getting their short films shown in cinemas, outside of festivals?

Has anyone else managed this and how? My film Black Car Home, has been shown in a cinema this month and has bookings for a special event built around it in January and is appearing in three more theatres in January and February. These are not festival showings.Happy to share the hows, whats and whys? I'm an Oscar short listed BAFTA and Emmy Nominated producer, director, and writer. We expect a wider release in 2014. You can see the trailer for Black Car Home , which is set in this the pre Christmas period, if you go here www.blackcarhome.com www.facebook.com/blackcarhome

Hello all! I'm a voice, film and theater actor from the Milwaukee ,WI. I've finished my fifth book Reality is Leaking by Ron Washburn. Commercial acting seems to be picking up and hope to find some up and coming films to work in Chicago. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a star studded 2014./Best William E Fortier

Thanks Richard. I think Black Car Home's Christmas setting and local connections to here in Gloucestershire, and feel good story have helped get it shown initially, although its beginning to pick up interest more widely. Good luck William.

Philip Sedgwick

Interesting tone to this... like a mix of Local Hero and The Girl in the Cafe. Both characters in the trailer are great... very castable. I'll be looking for it.

Richard "RB" Botto

My pleasure, David.

DOP is Ian Salvage who is UK based an shot the Oscar short listed Love at First Sight a couple of years ago. He is very talented as you can see.

Antonia Jones-Hackley

I agree, it looks very interesting.

Mama Mia! the global hit was written by Catherine Johnson, and she will be speaking at "Celebrate Cinema" event which includes a screening of Black Car Home on the 18th January. There will also be a chance to find out how Olive the swan, one of the stars of Black Car Home, achieved her role, with bird trainer Lloyd Buck. http://www.wottoneph.co.uk/news/Special+Event/50
