Just arrived on Stage32....

Hello everyone - Just popped into existence here on Stage 32. Look forward to seeing where it goes. I'm relatively new to screenwriting. Only wrote my first (proper) feature script last year ("Station") and was encouraged when I got to Final Draft's Big Break semi-final. Gave me a big wake-up call. Then a light came on for me earlier this year at Allen Palmer's Cracking Yarns screenwriting workshop in Sydney where I witnessed an auditorium of people laughing as a sample comedy I wrote was read out by actors (title "Save a dollar" - see the pdf on my profile page). We write to evoke, huh. So to see that for the first time... I already had the writing bug since childhood, but seeing people respond... the bug bit me but good. Currently writing a new feature length and have the revised script from last year back in the comps. In the meantime, look forward to seeing where Stage 32 goes and connecting with the creative community. BTW... any advice about the community/culture here - do's don't's's's'ssssses etc.? Cheers, Andy

Yes one...join ISA (International screenwriters association), they having a free teleconference by David Freeman on Advanced dialogue this weekend , hurry and try get a spot. I have a great idea for a comedy sitcom but I am not strong on writing funny dispite my personality. I can make you laugh if you standing in front of me, but I find it harder on paper...
