Introduce Yourself : Hello from Belize! by Gregg Stouffer

I am brand new to Stage 32, and am very excited about the opportunity to connect with a global community. Two weeks ago, I left behind a very successful and robust film and television production business in Denver and have moved to Belize with the intention of starting a Film School. This is an amazingly beautiful place, with a crying need for developing industry, and I have had nothing but support from the government, film commission and culture and heritage institute. The idea is to create an intensive hands-on program that will educate and train Belizeans in many of the basic crew and technical production roles, and then invite outside production companies into the region with the understanding that they will be mentoring and training the Belizean crews on actual techniques and practices. In the short term, while waiting for this program to kick in, I am busying myself (and keeping mangoes and plantains on the table) by doing editing projects remotely (ftp, cloud, drop-box) and turning them around quickly and with maximum production value.
