Screenwriting : Chasing my dreams by Corey Mendez

Chasing my dreams

I've aways wrote as a way to decompress, whether it is poems or short stories. A couple of years ago I decided to try to write a screenplay. It was harder than I thought. After my fist script was done I sent it off to get a critique of my work. It was a learning experience, they said that my charters and my dialog was ready to go but my formatting needed work. I spent the last two years honing my craft and now I'm finding it impossible to find an agent to even look at it. Starting to get discouraged. If I try and fell, I'll be fine with that. At least I'll know I gave it shot. If any of you have any advice, it would be appreciated.

Achieving a screenwriting career is a marathon. A long, long, marathon with dozens of routes to choose from, and all sorts of known -- and unknown -- obstacles that you will have to hurdle, avoid, or just plow through. Take a read at this column by Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean among others): http://www.wordplayer.com/columns/wp34.Throw.in.the.Towel.html " you should quit trying only after two conditions have been met: 1.) You've given yourself a legitimate shot. 2.) Trying is no longer fun." Ultimately, you decided when to throw in the towel.
