Introduce Yourself : Yet another aspirational screenwriter . . . by John D Harrod

Hi there, Just signed up to the Stage32 community. Although I've been writing fiction for quite a few years, for various reasons the process has been very much stop-start. I have completed only a few pieces, and nothing published. After many months researching screenplay format I wrote my first full-length screenplay (fan-fic). The third draft was completed earlier this year, and although the experience proved challenging, it was also surprisingly satisfying. Now that the desire to write said franchised story has been satisfied, out of my system, I intend to write original material only. I'm currently concentrating on the short-form, giving myself specific (but arbitrary) challenges and targets, i.e., genre, timescales, narrative techniques, self-contained or not, etc,. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to connect with a few people here, exchange a few thoughts, and support the endeavours of fellow creatives. Cheers.
