Hello my fellow Stage 32'rs: A Brief Introduction to Me...

Hi All, I'm starting to explore opportunities in two areas: (1) story editing/management and (2) voiceover work. Here is a bit more about me... I'm a Publishing Consultant and Developmental Editor. I've worked as Managing Editor of Cosimo Books and as a Developmental Editor at Managing Editorial Services in New York and am a past president of the New York City Chapter of The Women’s National Book Association (www.wnba-nyc.org). I have an A.L.B. in Humanities, cum laude, from Harvard University and an M.S. in publishing from New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Education. I've launched my website for my business, E.S.B. (Eat. Sleep. Books.) Consulting @ www.eatsleepbooks.com, including a launch of a PDF-only digital press, Ardent Street Press @ www.ardentstreetpress.com. I hope you'll take a moment to visit me, if you've not already. Additionally, I have recently finished creating a website to announce my foray into voiceover work called "A Voice of Her Own" at http://kalivecchia.wix.com/avoiceofherown. I hope you'll take a moment to visit and listen to my demos. Overall… I work on two fronts -- as a consultant for small/indie publishers as well as doing author-facing work, which involves helping writers with completed manuscripts to help navigate the publishing seas. On the consulting side, I enjoy managing creative professionals and operations processes, including project work of a varied nature. On the author side, I most enjoy developmental or, "big picture" editing -- that is, reviewing and developing content according to a project plan. I don't ghost write, but do enjoy a significant amount of input as to tone, style, organization, focus, etc., while working alongside the author(s). I'd be interested to connect with others here about story editor work as well as voiceover work. I'd also be interested to know how people are finding work. Please know that I'm happy to provide guidance, connections, etc. as I'm able. Thanks for taking time here -- I appreciate it. Enjoy the weekend!, -Karen
