Screenwriting : Writer, Coach, Consultant by William Lee

Hello all. I've been on the site for some time now but haven't taken advantage of it or the great people connected to it. I'm in the process of making a shift back into more of what I love to do so I thought it would be a good time to say hello in a louder way. There's a ton of sites out there and copious amounts of info inundating everyone's inbox these days about how to break into the biz, the 'right and wrong' way to structure a story, million dollar writing concepts, and how to generally become rich and famous by following the formula of the latest internet screenwriting guru. It's definitely 'buyer beware'. Through a series of articles, thoughts, ideas and concrete examples, I want to explore story, storytelling, storytelling and structure and howe they are connected, what makes a good story, and how to use what we know, what we do't know, and our everyday life and life experiences (and those of others) to enhance our story telling abilities, whatever medium. I want to help filmmakers, writers, producers evaluate and develop good story ideas, marketing plans and concepts; coach people through creative challenges and roadblocks, turn good writing into great writing and transform rough drafts into polished gems. All of this with an eye on what's happening in this rapidly changing business, technology, and how to best use those changes and tools to our advantage. And to play in and discover what elements are evergreen and always worthwhile. Maybe more so today as many people are ignoring timeless storytelling principles at their own peril.
