Hello! I am a licensed hair and mua looking to work in the film industry. Ive heard from several people that you need to join the Michigan Union if youd ever like to be hired for work. I cant find anywhere about how to join. Can somebody please point me in the right direction? Ive already gone to Michiganfilm.gov and no actual information on how to join. Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

http://www.michiganfilmoffice.org/cm/files/MFO_unions-2(1).pdf That PDF contains the contact information for your local union reps. Find the one closest to you and start e-mailing and calling. Make sure you have a portfolio to show. Good luck!

Look at the website for IATSE local 38. That's the union that represents makup artists in Michigan.
