Good advice Bob then it probably makes getting those outside perspectives when we do need them better. I'm learning that whatever the perspective good or bad I'll get, knowing I made a valiant effort first, still makes me feel better about that feedback. At least until more recently I could just blame it on the fact I didn't know what I was doing and still don't completely but at least now my work is a valiant effort with basic understanding and I'll just get better and better because I want too. I had someone tell me last year I need to learn how to learn. At first I though what a dumb statement I know how to learn. So now I'm more open to all perspectives thinking just maybe I'm not always right. I also have a theory that no screenwriter is truly self-taught because it's an impossible task to not be receptive to the advice of other's, not follow any kind of standardization and gain any kind of qualified success. I sure could gain a ton of quantified failures if I wouldn't have simply learned how to learn and learn and learn continuing the process until and even after I attain success.
