Taylor Dior, a native New Yorker, is ecstatic to join PHYLICIA RASHAD's cast of "Fences" at Long Wharf Theatre and McCarter Theatre! Taylor was thrilled to learn she could audition for the role of Raynell in a major regional production. She is beyond excited to be offered the role and embark on her first professional theater role at just 6 years old. Working under the direction of Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad for several months is an opportunity of a lifetime! Taylor signed with Wilhelmina Models NY at the age of 2 doing occasional print work. She appeared in a Target holiday ad with PEYTON LIST and SPENCER LIST. She also appears in an Amway Global Ad with actress ROCHELLE AYTES. But performing and acting was Taylor's niche. So, Taylor signed exclusively with her talent agency Don Buchwald & Associates in 2012 and they have kept her busy ever since. Taylor has proven to be a versatile actress having done principal work in film, TV, commercial, theater, and voiceover. She made her local theater debut at age 5 performing in musical productions with The Children’s Theater Company in NYC. She then went on to book the roles of Molly in Annie Jr. and Raynell in a local production of Fences. Her TV work includes the recurring role of "Zoe Weston", CUBA GOODING JR and SHARON LEAL's daughter, in FOX pilot "Guilty". She was priveleged to work alongside an Oscar winning actor. Nickelodeon's Team Umizoomi also hired Taylor and she worked principal roles on three upcoming episodes for season 4. Taylor's film work ranges from both short to feature films. Her first film was in 2009 when she played young Tyanna Wallace in major feature film "Notorious" starring ANGELA BASSETT and DEREK LUKE . Taylor recently booked a feature film "Blame It On The Hustle" where she will play DMX and NICOLE ARI PARKER's daughter. In the summer of 2013, Taylor completed filming a SAG short film "A Life For A Life" where she played the daughter Cathy alongside NATALIE KNEPP and ATO ESSANDOH. Taylor also appears in SAG national and regional commercials and has lent her voice to a Band-Aid commercial.
Taylor loves to dance, act, and sing. However, Taylor's love of performing extends beyond stage and screen. She spends as much time as she can in the gym. She has been a USAG competitive gymnast since 2012 and quickly moved up the ranks posting personal bests of 9.7 vault, 9.63 floor, 9.28 bars, and 9.2 beam. She has won numerous individual all-around titles. Taylor sets personal goals and works very hard on improving her scores. She loves being part of a team and competing. She wants to ultimately compete in the 2024 Olympic Games.
