About Hugh

I have a background in music video, TVC and feature film production. Worked in the art department on "Ghosts of the Civil Dead" (AFI Best Production Design award in 1987) and "Death in Brunswick", which won the AFI Best Production Design award in 1990.

After traveling overseas, continued doing storyboards and started writing screenplays, receiving script development funding from Film Vic and the AFC on three occasions.

Wrote several drafts of scripts "Hiding Billy" (with Kevin Curnow), "Not Much Less Than Angels" (with Paul Goldman), and "Wages Of Beer" (with Chris Kennedy), as well as other drafts of different projects - see my Loop profile for more.

Continued to write while creating concept designs for "Subterano" in 2001 and was involved in the set design on "The Proposition", which won the AFI Best Film award in 2005, as well as the IF awards for Best Production Design and Best Film.

Completed pre-production style frames for "The Road", a feature film based on the Booker Prize winning novel by Cormac McCarthy and directed by John Hillcoat.

For the past year I've been working as Art Director for Craig Griffin (CEO The Directors Group) on his surfing documentary "Uncharted Waters... the personal history of Wayne Lynch".

I'm still working freelance, writing screenplays and initiating projects.
