Born in Newark, New Jersey, Monica developed her interest while growing up in Linden, NJ. After graduation from Linden High School she studied Fine Art Photography at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently she is based on the Jersey Shore near Asbury Park, within New Jersey's ambitious artistic restoration community. Monica is building on a career portfolio in Fine Art Photography. For many years she has worked for various Advertising and Public Relations firms such as Saatchi & Saatchi Compton, William Esty Advertising, McMasters Communications, Inc, The Yellow Pages Association Co-Op Advertising, Daniel Glassman Advertising Agency - Banyan Communication Group, and Worral Communications Group obtaining experience in creative media production, ad design and print media sales. Her work has adorned the walls of various art venues in addition to participation in the Newark Art Council's Open Doors Artist's Studios Tour which is an annual event organized by the Newark Arts Council. The Tour features a number of curated and juried exhibitions highlighting artists from Newark and surrounding areas while showcasing available artists' space; performance art; a rare look into artists' studios and a crawl through Newark's numerous and diverse art galleries. Monica is an active member of the Jersey Shore Photography Group and the New Jersey Creative Professionals group and participates in annual 'Help-Portrait' global charity event.Help-Portrait is a movement of photographers, makeup artists and volunteers who come together to give, not take pictures of those who are in need. Free portraits are provided to the homeless, orphans, single moms (and their kids), single dads (and their kids), sick children, sick parents, the elderly, army vets, and underprivileged families.
