Kat has been fortunate to have been immersed in words from her earliest days when at three years old she cried to go to school to learn to read and write (because those fools in nursery school were eating mud. Literally.) She has been a marketing copywriter and creative director and worked with nearly every studio in Hollywood and has been the head writer for a soap opera website as well as being a paid soap opera episode writer. She’s placed as a finalist in the Passages North Wasnode Short Fiction Competition and she won the F(r)iction Magazine literary competition judged by award-winning author Charlie Jane Anders. She was also thrilled to receive a We Need Diverse Books grant for writing for youth. Most recently she was a Top Ten Finalist in the Launch Pad Prose competition and a Kimbilio Fellow. So, she likes the words.
