Clover Ford

Clover Ford is a Charlotte, NC native, who is a published author, content creator, actress, writer, director, and producer. In 2019, she first gained attention from her social media platform, My Chocolate. Centered around bringing awareness to colorism, My Chocolate encourages brown and black women to embrace their melanin. Since 2019, Clover has grown her social media account to 30k+ followers and partnered with Girl Talk Foundation by mentoring young girls in embracing their individuality.

Behind her initiative to bring awareness to colorism, she self-produced her own talk show, Conversations with Clover. Her show brought awareness to the unfortunate challenges women of color have experienced in the community due to the richness of their skin tone. She was able to bring guests on from the entertainment industry to talk through their challenges and how improvements could be made in the community as it pertains to colorism.

Clover also self-published her first children’s book, My Chocolate and wrote/produced her short film Vandalized, January 2020. The book teaches children self-love and to love the skin they are in. Clover was featured on WJZY FOX 46 Good Day Charlotte for her children’s book, My Chocolate. To date, her book continues to sell out on Amazon.

Clover’s short film, Vandalized, was an official selection by the Charlotte Black Film Festival in January 2020. Being a part of the film festival, she was able to meet many creatives that pushed her further in continuing her journey of creating, writing, directing, and producing her own films.

Clover has excelled in becoming a new filmmaker under her company My Chocolate Films, LLC. Her most recent creative efforts were drawn to creating her new web series, Hopeless Romantic. She began creating, writing, and producing for Hopeless Romantic, October of 2020. Clover hit the ground running mid-2021 for the release of her web series. She wore a multitude of hats behind the scenes as the showrunner for Hopeless Romantic while also embodying the lead actress of the series. Ultimately, Clover formed a dynamic team and cast to bring her creative ideas to fruition and now Hopeless Romantic can be viewed via YouTube across the globe.
