Shay Gospel

Shehu Belo "Shay Gospel" was born in Nigeria to a muslim father and Christian mother, despite his father insisting to raise Shay as a Muslim his mother would have non of it. At the age of 5 Shay emigrated to Britain alongside his mother, older brother and younger sister where he was raised by his single mother, his love and interest for music was very apparent from an early age, he recalls hearing and singing along to Michael Jacksons "Heal the world"; at the age of 4 or 5 for the first time back in Nigeria, and how it truly touched and made a connection with his senses, though he had no clue of what the song was truly about, something happened to him from that instant and music became deeply implanted within him, becoming apart of him.

Shay previously had some relative success as a R&B/pop artist after releasing an album in Japan, but when he found true relationship with Jesus Christ after repentance and baptism, he quickly submitted his life into Gods hands, Shay Gospel served as a choir member in the music ministry at Christian Revival Church where he is firmly planted, and after faithful service he was released as a lead singer and under the guidance of able leaders

Shay Gospel is a new breed of Christian, totally sold out to the calling of Christ The Lord, a singer song writer who has entirely committed his gifting into Gods hands and inline with The Lords plans, Shay's purpose is to share the gospel through song; confessing that Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings, his pursuit of happiness lies in bringing the lost souls back into the light, doing his part in building Gods Kingdom, glorifying Jesus Christ with praise and worship.

Shay gospels take on gospel music is nonconformity! His aim is to constantly try and push the sound and style, but aways in truth and in true keeping with the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord, his introductory album speaks volumes, entirely written and arranged by himself; confessing his Love of Christ, to praise and worship God almighty.
