LOGLINE: Aspiring author Elliott Sprechmann secretly publishes his terminally-ill friend's novel under his own name. His crime begins to snowball when his friend miraculously recovers.

SYNOPSIS:

Elliott Sprechmann's lifelong dream is to author the great American novel. The only things working against him are his extreme ineptitude and utter lack of talent. Lewis Bernard, however, Elliott's estranged college friend, has written a novel that is certain to be a bestseller, but he has only weeks left to live. Elliott invites Lewis to beautiful Monterey so he can enjoy his last days while rekindling an old friendship. He also offers to use his connections to help publish Lewis's novel. Realizing that Lewis will be dead before its release, Elliott secretly puts his own name to the novel. Lewis, however, has his own secrets, including his burgeoning relationship with Marna, Elliott's wife. When a doctor tells Lewis that he is going to live, Elliott faces a major dilemma. Is Lewis doomed after all?
