Hello! I'm Dequane Gordon, a recent college graduate whose looking to start a career in TV and film. While in school, I fell in love with the concept of storytelling and its many forms and manifestations. I was a Marketing major, which informed how I look at the importance of storytelling and how narratives influence so much of how we perceive our world. I also picked up photography and became President of University Photo Service, where I would go on to produce a tremendous yearbook. This yearbook was an amalgamation of all the stories of the year, a display of the collective energy of the community. I had to carefully design and curate every page to create something that would act as a time capsule and be appreciated even centuries from now. I was the Executive Producer for Albany Television, where I would help creators bring their ideas to life. Whether it was a podcast, TV show, or movie, I would help them create every step of the way. I would help them write and treatments, I would serve as an on-set producer, managing audio and video, I would schedule shoots, manage equipment, and find locations to shoot. It was my job to help them tell stories, and that was important to me. I was a Writing Tutor as well, where I would help students with their writing anxieties. Here I learned the importance of empathy, and how powerful of a force it can be when working with others and providing the insight needed to assist people in times of need. I interned at the school's Office of Communications and Marketing, where I learned how to tell stories in a professional setting and how to work within the many parameters set by that. Overall, I am someone who values art and culture, I am someone who not only lets the world paint, but is also careful in its interpretation. I think I would be a great addition here, I hope you think the same. Have a great day!
Fervently,
Dequane Gordon
