GENRE: Action, Sci-fi
LOGLINE:

A man crosses a patrolled wasteland to save his wife from his own brother - a megalomaniac who transforms survivors into proles, in order to run his post-apocalyptic ‘sanctuary’.

SYNOPSIS:

2033 AD. A year after cataclysm. Population densities cease to exist. The extinction vortex has polarized survivors into three distinct groups... humans, proles (zombies) and grubbers. The latter turns-a-profit from the misery of others.

Torn from his wife’s side in the midst of mass hysteria, Tane lives plagued by guilt. Forced underground with a remnant of survivors, any hope of finding her fades with each passing day. While on watch one night, the lone wolf spots a sled drawn by mutant dogs... on the hunt for humans. The driver is none other than his wife, Søren.

Tane trades the ‘safe house’ for wastes patrolled by proles. Hot-on-his-heels is fellow survivor Farris, who can ‘see’ the future, but wants no part in it... instead choosing to document it in comic form. Tane is convinced Søren must be at The Tower - the only known refuge. Fueled by hope, Tane sets course for the old Rose Bowl site. Farris’ fear-mongering efforts to de-rail him, lead them to an outpost, policed by Palmer, a slave-trader - whose moral compass shifts with the changing winds. One minute, he’s battling hordes of zombies alongside Tane and Farris - the next, collecting coin for dispatching humans to The Tower.

Tane’s plan of ‘flying under the radar’, comes unstuck when proles, implanted with molecular scanners, capture and transport them to The Tower - a front for a dystopia ruled by The Liberator - a despot professing to be ‘savior’ of the world. Selected humans are siphoned of bodily minerals - supplying The Liberator with a life-enhancing alchemical elixir. Devoid of human qualities, proles emerge. A ready-made workforce.

Hope re-ignites when Søren comes face-to-face with the new prisoner Tane, but the increasingly delusional Liberator eyes him as his next victim - unconcerned that he’s his brother. How will Tane escape a prison of his own making and win back Søren? With Farris already transformed into a prole, Tane enlists the help of human survivors and proles alike, to bring down The Liberator - who’s become a human-cockroach hybrid - and save humanity from a fate worse than death.
