About Frédérique

Frederique Proulx put her feet on a stage for the first time when she was 12 years old and she’s been evolving as an artist ever since. She studied acting for the camera in Montreal. She quickly realized that in order to make her way in the business, she had to create her own work opportunities. That is when she applied and got accepted at the National Institute of Sound and Images (INIS) in Screenwriting in Montreal.
Today, she has written, starred in and sometimes even directed over twenty short films including Contretemps (Québec Film Festival, RVCQ) Scuse (Very short film festival of Paris) and co-wrote Le Piment, selected in over 100 festivals worldwide (Outfest film festival Los Angeles, NYC Indie Film Festival). Frederique is presently writing two feature films and two short films including Mine and Transi.
