Doris Garn, born 1974 in Vienna (Austria), completed her training as a multimedia producer in 1997. After her training, she worked at the SAE Institute in Vienna (Austria) as manager for the digital film department. During this time she attended the documentary film course led by Kurt Brazda at the University of Vienna and trained as a photographer. Since 1997 she has worked as a freelance documentarian, cinematographer and editor for various film and television companies such as Pammerfilm, Interspot, WBS Film, VtV, Cinevision, ÖkoMedia, Wntv, Puls4, ATV, ORF. At the Puls4 channel, she was employed with the birth of her son in 2006 and became manager for material coordination and quality control for in-house productions, series and films.
Since 2017, she has been working at Puls4 as an editor for various magazines, is a university lecturer at the New Design University for media production with a focus on production, directing, camera and editing as well as being self-employed again. Doris Garn is currently studying Creative Media Industries MA Professional Practice at SAE Munich, where she is planning her first film project, Soup-Connection.
