Singer songwriter film maker Cathy Grier believes in the power of music. Her 3 decades long career began in biker bars in CT, to Greenwich Village NYC, touring with a band, sunset gigs in Key West, Paris songwriting and beyond. Socially conscious in not only her songwriting but in her stage presence, she captivates audiences with her clear and powerful voice that edges into folk-blues territory. She is also known as NYCSubwayGirl where she has performed in the public metro system "Music Under New York" since 1999 and created her video series "What's Your Inspiration?"

Cathy’s diverse and eclectic career highlights include, opening for Laura Nyro and Joan Armatrading, touring Germany with a French girl band, an MTV basement tape award, writing a #1 French dance hit “Misery” for artist Indra, recording CD ‘Comin’ Back To Me’ at Magic Shop NYC, performing at Avery Fischer Hall, BAM and being featured on CBS Sunday Morning. Underground, Cathy is known as NYC Subway Girl. She has been performing with the MTA program, Music Under New York since 1999.
2012 found Cathy performing in such diverse venues as Joe's Pub, rockin' with a full band at Celebrate Brooklyn!, a solo show at the Hudson Opera House, private parties in Tribeca lofts, to an acoustic performance in a hotel suite of the Carlyle Hotel for Broadway PR firm O+M's big after the Tony awards bash.
As a songwriter she has written theme songs for Subway The Series, and HerStory including an anthem for Eve Ensler's One Billion Rising entitled "Rise Up." She is currently working on a 2013 release of new songs and cover favorites.
