Roberta started out wanting to be a journalist but whilst at University in Italy she took a Film Studies course and then became involved in making a short film. Before long, she was hooked on cinema instead. After university Roberta interned at a local TV Station in Italy and spent time getting to know the the in-house editors there and finding out about their work.
She went on to be accepted to a professional Cinema Editing Course in Bologna, Italy where she spent a year training on Avid– 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. After that she worked as an editor in Italy for 2 years, editing a feature length documentary on the topic of HIV: + or -The confused sex by Andrea Adriatico and Giulio Maria Corbelli.
She has also edited several short films including The Guilt by Maria Martinelli for the Italian TV channel Rai3 and backstage documentaries for Bologna’s renowned archive film festival Il Cinema Ritrovato.
Roberta moved to London 2 years ago. Since then she has been working with Franz Pagot and Lucia Yandoli on several short film projects, Catherine Yass on her last video installation Lighthouse as well as on several commercial and advertising projects, mostly with the photographer Ben Rice. She just finished editing a feature film directed by Bill Thomas, Fallen Soldiers, and collaborated as additional editor with Leila Sansour on Road to Bethlehem.
