SYNOPSIS:

A plucky, boisterous Detective in a dangerous love affair with risk returns to her home village of Lower Strangling after successfully graduating from Hendon Police College. Initially, she is excited to return home at catch up with her old friends and long-time girlfriend, but her work and private lives become inextricably linked when her local MP is kidnapped by a nearby B&B owner whilst visiting the Village Fete, a case of horse thefts sweeping across Gloucestershire leads her to the school that two children who live in the village go to, and the village itself is the target of several small scale attacks from a business magnate for whom they were once loyal customers. The Detective will stop at nothing to save the people and the village she loves from oppressive outside forces, even if that means putting those people at risk herself, which she’s all too happy to do as she’s overconfident in her own abilities to save the day just in time. Eventually, she realises she needs to be a little more risk averse, and in doing so brings peace to Lower Strangling once more.
