Vanita Borwankar

Vanita Borwankar was a 2021 ScreenCraft Fellow and most recently an Associate Writer on Disney Channel's #1 show BIG CITY GREENS, for which she wrote two episodes from pitch to final script, in addition to contributing in the room. Prior to this, she worked as a Writer's Assistant/Script Coordinator on Skydance's LUCK and Disney's RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, receiving mentorship from writer/director Adele Lim and producer Osnat Shurer.

Vanita has written a feature, two one-hour pilots, and two half-hour pilots. Three of her projects have placed in the Top 19%, Top 10%, and Top 2% on Coverfly's Red List, respectively.

Vanita is primarily a genre, dramedy, and animation writer who loves to blend genre elements and incorporate comedy in unexpected ways. Vanita draws on her academic background in psychology and her varied experiences living, working, and adventuring abroad to tell poignant, character-driven, and deeply human stories across genres.
