Zeynep Atakan

After graduating from the Marmara University Department of Cinema and Television, Atakan worked in the TV advertisement industry from 1986 to 1999. In 2007, she established ZeynoFilm. In 2010, she won the European Film Academy’s Best European CoProducer Award, and started the Yapımlab Workshops. In 2014, she was awarded the Flying Broom Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award. Her production Winter Sleep won the Palme d’Or at the 67th Cannes Film Festival. The same year, she started the Antalya Film Forum, which she directed until 2018. Atakan organizes the Turkey edition of the European Film Academy’s Young Audience Award, and actively works as a film producer. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Asia Pacific Screen Academy, Atakan is the Vice President of the European Women’s Audiovisual Network. She has been the Art Director of the Sabancı Foundation Short Film Competition since 2015.
