Svilen Kamburov

With twelve complete feature scripts, including a placement in the top 1% of Academy's Nicholl Fellowship list, Svilen is an optioned screenwriter with various projects in development with production companies and studios.

Svilen's original script "King's Heart", the inspiring true story of the largest rescue during WWII, is optioned with producer Matthew Jenkins (Murder on the Orient Express). The project honors King Boris III, a silent hero of the Holocaust, and has received the blessing and good-will of His Royal Highness King Simeon II, King Boris' son.

Svilen has since worked with writing partner Mia Nguyen on a number of other projects. The writing team is currently shopping their action thriller project "The Horn" with producer Claire Kupchak ( The Foreigner). The duo is also packaging their passion project "Atanasoff" with producer Nnamdi Asomugha (Beasts of No Nation). Svilen and Mia have personally been in touch with John Atanasoff II and have received his support for the film. A project which will ultimately honor the inventor and forgotten father of the first electronic digital computer.

In 2013 the writing team were hand picked by Fusion Edge Media producer Jack Rajasekar to script the TV series "Jesus The Miraculous" for the Indian and Middle Eastern markets. Svilen and Mia have also scripted the high concept, fairy tale project "Underland", under consideration with Disney.

As a producer, Svilen has worked on the award winning feature film "Johnny Walker" based on Dostoevsky's novel "Notes from the Underground" and the socially conscious documentary "The Man who Saved the World", featuring Robert De Niro, Matt Damon, and Kevin Costner.

Svilen graduated with a BA in English and American Literature and Linguistics from Sofia University and also attended Ecole Superieure in Paris, France and the filmmaking program at NYFA. He believes in telling powerful and inspiring stories.
