Expand postThanks for your inspiring story! I had something similar happen recently. I was active in theater as a teen and young adult and majored in Drama in college. Unfortunately, it was not a supportive environment and I experienced so much negativity and lack of support for my career goals that I internalized those attitudes and ran away from the performing arts, despite earning a BA. I worked a string of low-paying jobs and tried to start a teaching career, but couldn't find a job. Nine months ago, I had an idea for a webseries, Gwyddion, so I taught myself screenwriting format and wrote the scripts for the first season. My friends and colleagues who read it, including many that work in the film industry or hold advanced degrees in screenwriting, thought the series was really good and encouraged me to move it into production. I got excited and then super scared because I still believed that I couldn't have a career in the performing arts. I soon got over that and now it feels like I've come back home, where I've always belonged. I've never followed my dreams before, but now I am and it's great! On top of the web series, I'm trying to start a production company as well and for the first time in my life, I'm optimistic and excited about the future! Here's to following our dreams!
Just wrapped on a short film :D Hoping you are well? Take excellent care :)
Congrats on the film! I'm doing well. Finishing up a few classes for a degree and then will focus my energy on producing Gwyddion and planning for investors for the production company.
Excellent stuff! Hope it's all still going well re Gwyddion and investor pitch/maintenance?

Hi Darin, it's great to connect with you! Have a great weekend!
The Gwyddion website got an upgrade, though another one is coming soon! www.gwyddion.org
Hey Stage 32 Peeps! I just landed a role in the new David O Russell feature film shooting in Boston. I play a mobster. The film is based on the ABSCAM controversy in the 1970's. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christain Bale, Amy Adams, and Jeremy Renner. NOW maybe I can get a damned agent!!
Thanks Ginette
Congrats Gary! Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors - and not because of Batman - I love his darker stuff: American Psycho, Harsh Times. I'll look forward to watching!
Thanks Mike!

There aren't any episodic science fiction space shows on these days, so I wrote a webseries called Gwyddion that is in development. I'm currently working on getting the Gwyddion website up and running and the next stage is finding investors. I love screenwriting because it combines all of the other crazy paths I've run down my entire life and has forced me onto one highway. I'm able to use all my talents and skills as an actor, writer, musician, and even teacher to create something entirely unique and I love it to pieces. I never thought I'd ever do something like Gwyddion and it's become almost like a second child to me (I already have one). My big dream is to see Gwyddion become a reality.
