Gizem Boyacioglu

Co-founder / partner at 8 Interactions & Production company based in Istanbul, she has been a visiting faculty, design consultant and alumni at CIID and has a background in interaction design, documentary, advertisement and TV music programme creation, photography and also materials engineering. Curious about how systems and processes work, research & analysis, understanding people needs and transform these needs into possible physical, digital and spatial design concepts and implementation. In her past years, worked in Toyota Motor Europe as an interaction designer, working on futuristic vehicle concepts, multimedia system interface design and automotive trend analysis. In recent years, she designs workshops on design thinking, service design and experience prototyping for companies, designers, executives and startups. Some major design collaborations have been with the Turkish Government/Vestel for educational smartboard interface design, near future interaction concepts for Toyota vehicles, Teletronics Smart City project for Dubai and commercial game designs for
web and mobile platforms and museum installations. Gizem is also a self-made director whose career started in 2009 by making design concept videos, continually works with creatives on advertisement projects with corporations, such as Netflix, Turkish Airlines, Sony, Schneider Electric, Depo Film, Is Bank, Ciner Holding, Yargici, ING, Vestel, Brisa, Eczacibasi as well as documentaries on Turkish culture and heritage. She hints at cultures, she's worked and studied at, in her work: Denmark, Japan, Belgium, Sweden and Turkey. She loves to explore areas where the contrasts come together and likes to confront ideas to their limits for the sake of rhetorical logic, both
in her storytelling and design thinking. Some of her design, video and photography has been published in NewYork Times, Wired, Salone Del Mobile and CNN Turk and awarded by Core 77, Art By Chance,
Turkish Journalists Association and TUBITAK.
