About Larry

Larry Whitt is hearing impaired/deaf. He lost his hearing at 3. Lipreading and American Sign Language are two of his talents. He is an actor, model, director, and screenwriter and has appeared in a variety of films, theater productions, and a TV commercial. A member of the Screen Action Guide (SAG).

When I wrote a script for the first time, I realized I had become a screenwriter. There were reasons many auditions were held by hearing people who wrote the scripts. I wasn't considered for these roles due to my hearing loss. However, when I found a website about how to create scripts for free online, I tried it and successfully completed it in three years. I wrote it to help me improve my skills as a screenwriter. I realized I could bring my own creative into writing for the deaf role. I explored my perceptions of hearing and non-hearing characters. In the real world, I can understand the differences between them. Considering my point of view, I will examine hearing and non-hearing in relation to their different perceptions. I will create a role in the script for each one. I am committed to writing a script for the deaf and hearing bridge in the future. It is very necessary for me as a deaf screenwriter to have a creative perspective that aligns with my view of the deaf and hearing world. That includes my connection with the deaf and hearing individual. I look forward to writing more projects in the future.
