Patty Odero is a 1st gen Ken(yan) wife & mother of 2 who contemplates the efficacy of gentle parenting especially when her 3 y.o. throws tantrums over vegan/gluten free cookies. She learned conversational Mandarin Chinese in her teen years, which she thought was the reason for her local celebrity status in Beijing. But it was actually because most people she came across had never seen a black girl. Using this "prejudiced fame" as a catapult into success, she attended UCLA and went on to work at CAA, ICM, Overbrook Entertainment, Illumination Entertainment and was even a personal assistant to a pop star, which she cannot speak too much on since NDA's are a real thing. Patty is currently working on packaging and selling a screenplay, which was born from her 'Wa'dup Blood?!' pilot sample. In her writing, she enjoys telling the story of the underdog triumphing and she finds solace in writing dark comedies. Her goal as a writer is to bring more anti-monolithic black stories to the screen.
