About Deva

Deva's short films have screened at BAFTA, Academy Award, BIFA, European Film Award and Canadian Screen Award qualifying festivals. They have won six awards and been nominated for seventeen.
Deva’s first feature film BLUE, a supernatural drama, starring Rosie Allerhand and Gemma Jones (Rocketman), with songs sung by Shirley Henderson (Awarded Best Actress in a musical at the Olivier Awards 2018), has a sales agent/ distributor and has been released on Amazon Prime USA, UK and Canada and will soon be on other VOD platforms.
Deva has established a new model of filming which she’ll be using on her second feature film 3 DEGREES, a thriller, starring Nicola Harrison. “A wannabe singer who is haunted by her own fractured personalities, has to self-investigate when she suspects herself of murder.”
As well as being a BAFTA Connect member, Deva also spent three years on the BAFTA Crew programme; on the BFI Guiding Lights Scheme being mentored by Gurinder Chadha and is a Berlinale Talent Campus Alumni.
Originally trained as an actress at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BP Scholarship, Deva spent a summer studying filmmaking at NYU, on a William and Eva Fox Fellowship and is still greatly influenced by Prof. Karl Bardosh’s hands-on approach to filmmaking.
