Maristella Bonomo

I graduated in Cinema at Dams in Bologna and obtained a PhD in Italian Studies. I studied Film writing and Creative writing at Columbia University. I have published two poetry collections, "Passi segreti" (2008) and "Blu ritratto orizzontale" (2020), a book of short stories, "Riflessi" (2009), and a novel, "Navel" (2019). As a director, I shot the short film "Sdrvgd’t (Wake Up!)" in super16 mm, and collaborated on some episodes of the web series San Berillo web series doc. I have translated the French novel "Paradiso coniugale" by Alice Ferney (2013) and the collection of poetic prose "La riproduzione dei profili" by Rosmarie Waldrop (2021) from English. Since 2020, I have been working for the publishing house Cosmia as editor and editorial director. Cosmia is a collective of artists. I attend theatrical and contemporary dance workshops to deepen my study on the relationship between the body, space, and language. I work on screenplay editing, and I teach creative writing courses and Italian for foreigners.
