Option Agreement!

Big news! Artania has been optioned for film development by producers Danny Laker and Jean-François Cavelier who I met here on Stage 32! I'm beyond thrilled to see this world of ancient art and wild imagination take its first steps toward the screen.

Golden Greetings, dreamers—it's happening.

Rutger Oosterhoff

Good luck. "A culture is only as great as its dreams, and its dreams are dreamed by artists."..and people who start a religion.

Bravo!

Coverfly Is Shutting Down. What Does This Mean for Screenwriters?

nofilmschool has shared that Coverfly is going away. (See link below)

I have used Coverfly only a couple times to submit to screenplay contests. But it's sad to see it go. However, there are other options, like FilmFreeway, for managing contest submissions (which I prefer anyway).

And yet, IMHO, I fin...

The percent you rank can alter. One of my screenplays was in top 2%, then 15, now 13%. Yes, it would be nice to keep.

Raymond Zachariasse

I think and hope those achievements will move to FilmFreeway as I heard both have the same owner. So, maybe a red list in FilmFreeway?

Dustin Quinteros

Update 2025, so doing some online research, take that for what it's worth, but Coverfly is not closing/shutting down, it's only Coverfly X.

"Elven" Poster

A big "Thank you" for the help and input. Truly appreciated.

This is where the final design has landed. Fun stuff!

Matthew Tallacksen

Yes Chiara Torrisi, I received some very insightful comments. Thank you.

Sille Larsen

Wow, I love this poster — especially that last line: 'This is just the beginning."

Matthew Tallacksen

Thank you Sille Larsen. That is one of my favorite lines in the screenplay.

Movie Poster

I'm working on a Marketing/Pitch Deck Poster for my screenplay "Elven". I was hoping to get the opinion of my fellow creatives. I have a spelling correction to make in my name, but this one stands out to me.

Matthew Tallacksen

George Ray Rigney, wow, what a stroke of luck to meet you. I have been hoping to find an expert or someone well versed in the spirituality of the Northern Isles. I would love to ask you some questions...

Hey, Everyone!

My name’s Maurice. I’m a Horror Action screenwriter who writes terrifying, action-packed stories and flawed characters. I’m also a ghostwriter, commercial writer, pitch deck designer, and Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. What’s everyone up to? Writing a script, outlining, researching, celebrating a victory, watching movies, spring cleaning, etc.

That sounds like a great weekend, Ashley Renee Smith! I hope you all have a fun time! Happy Easter!

Cool news!

Last month, we announced our 11th Annual Search for New Blood winner Travis J. Opgenorth who won with his horror script THE WHISPERERS. While meeting with Travis to go over everything, Travis mentioned he had actually just gotten his first ever screenplay produced into a movie during the month of Ja...

Crying

Have you ever written something so emotional in a script (dialogue, or a scene) that hit the mark and found your face streaming with tears as you wrote it?

This happened to me for only the second time yesterday.

To me, this is the ultimate sign you got things right! (unless you are writing a comedy)

Banafsheh Esmailzadeh

Not yet for my screenplays but definitely for my currently-on-hiatus novel. Best part is that it's in the climax and I still have to build up to it :')

Sydney S

So happy for you! I love when emotions take over and everything comes full circle like that—it’s such a personal experience. It really shows how powerful and meaningful your story is!

Sam Rivera

Many times! Honestly whenever I write anything deep and reflective I do!
