Tour Guide
Welcome to Hellinty, which they say is the gateway between eternity and hell. Observe the peacefulness of the waters, the tranquility of the landscape, and a surface seeming to mimic the grandeur of heaven, yet that boat, that single solitary boat with no oars, is said to be the gateway to hell. If bid to ride, then the tide will rise. Survive the night and enter the light. Incapable of withstanding the swell, thy soul shall be trapped in hell.
Tourist
Excuse me, but why would anyone get in that boat on this lake? It's pretty creepy (looks around at the other tourists for support). Am I right, and I right?
The attempt at wry humor is returned with a stoic silence
Tour Guide
So, are you finished?
The tourist hangs his head; his sheepish grin melts into a somber frown.
Tour Guide
All I can say is don’t be caught on the beach alone when the tide is high. They say that is when the Toll-man arrives. He gives you no choice but to board the boat. You have only one chance to sink or float. They say it's uncanny the bodies that have gone missing. That’s why this location is now closed to fishing. That concludes our final stop at the devil's doorway. If I were you, I’d stay away.
Tourist
You've got to be kidding me. That is some crazy cockamamie story. (Looks around) You guys aren’t buying this, are you?
His statement is once again met with silence.
Tour Guide
Alright, then we are going to head back to the bus now. Everyone, make sure to stay together.
The tourist decides to hang back for a minute. He takes a last look at the lake as the other tourists disappear beyond the mass of trees. In the distance, he sees a cloaked shadow as if it is walking on the water. The tourist walks forward, trying to make out what he sees.
Toll-man
What wandering eyes are these? It is of one who doesn’t believe in what he hears. Perhaps he needs to experience it to see.
The tourist looks around, startled
Toll-man
Don’t be startled. It's me, you see. I am the toll man, and if you ask for whom the bell tolls,? It tolls for thee. You have but one chance to survive the tide, and you go free or awaken in hell for eternity.
These are Soooo GOOD!!
Well done!!

I have used Coverfly only a couple times to submit to screenplay contests. But it's sad to see it go. However, there are other options, like FilmFreeway, for managing contest submissions (which I prefer anyway).
And yet, IMHO, I find much more value here on Stage 32 where there's more community, social interaction, sharing of ideas, and industry connections. (I admit I'm biased)
Anyway, what are your thoughts on the loss of Coverfly?
The percent you rank can alter. One of my screenplays was in top 2%, then 15, now 13%. Yes, it would be nice to keep.
I think and hope those achievements will move to FilmFreeway as I heard both have the same owner. So, maybe a red list in FilmFreeway?
Update 2025, so doing some online research, take that for what it's worth, but Coverfly is not closing/shutting down, it's only Coverfly X.
Yes Chiara Torrisi, I received some very insightful comments. Thank you.
Wow, I love this poster — especially that last line: 'This is just the beginning."
Thank you Sille Larsen. That is one of my favorite lines in the screenplay.
I'm working on a Marketing/Pitch Deck Poster for my screenplay "Elven". I was hoping to get the opinion of my fellow creatives. I have a spelling correction to make in my name, but this one stands out to me.

Expand commentGeorge Ray Rigney, wow, what a stroke of luck to meet you. I have been hoping to find an expert or someone well versed in the spirituality of the Northern Isles. I would love to ask you some questions if you would be willing. The girl and her mother are from New York, and the setting is current day. Here is the Logline
When a mother and her teen daughter travel to Scotland to retrieve an unexpected inheritance, a necklace that has been lost for hundreds of years leads them into a mystical and dangerous adventure as they are thrust into a centuries-old battle waged between families.
Her and her mother are not Elves, but their ancestors are. The absence of Elven features is an integral part of the story.
Thank you so much for reaching out. Please send me a private message if you would be willing to help me with a bit of Elven lore.
Thank you Mark Deuce, much appreciated!
My pleasure Matthew Tallacksen and best of luck with your project.

I believe it will be a unique rom*com Maurice Vaughan. I wish you a Happy Easter and try to relax also. Have a good weekend my friend.

While meeting with Travis to go over everything, Travis mentioned he had actually just gotten his first ever screenplay produced into a movie during the month of January, a neo-Western action movie produced by ESX Entertainment.
Today, I got word from Travis that the trailer for his new movie DAY OF RECKONING, starring Billy Zane and Scott Adkins just dropped and it looks AMAZING!!! Super excited for Travis -- his movie drops IN THEATERS on March 28th! Check it out and show some love for our guy!
Congrats!
Wal Friman oh it's definitely scratching that guns blazing action itch i can't seem to remedy (or want to lol)
Okay, definitely gonna see this one! Congrats Travis J. Opgenorth!
Have you ever written something so emotional in a script (dialogue, or a scene) that hit the mark and found your face streaming with tears as you wrote it?
This happened to me for only the second time yesterday.
To me, this is the ultimate sign you got things right! (unless you are writing a comedy)
Not yet for my screenplays but definitely for my currently-on-hiatus novel. Best part is that it's in the climax and I still have to build up to it :')
So happy for you! I love when emotions take over and everything comes full circle like that—it’s such a personal experience. It really shows how powerful and meaningful your story is!
Many times! Honestly whenever I write anything deep and reflective I do!
