Trapped in a maze of death, a veterinary technician and a mouse communications researcher are
pursued by aggressive and schizophrenic escaped lab mice injected with human DNA who get
their bloodthirsty revenge by killing laboratory staff in creatively diabolical ways that simulate
laboratory procedures.

SYNOPSIS:

After a long night of terrifying nightmares of mice being gassed to death, Rachel, a Veterinary Technician at an animal research laboratory drives to work on Saturday to tender her resignation. Rachel joins her boss, Dr. Warner to help with the tour of Veterinary Technician students she is leading through the facility explaining the different strains of genetically enhanced mice. On the tour, the students learn about euthanasia procedures, cervical dislocation, eye bleeding, cardiac sticks, and necropsy. Peter, a researcher working with a particular strain of aggressive mice, studies one of their brains after chopping its head off with a small guillotine. Three mice in the room work together to slide the lid off their cage and begin to escape. In a separate mouse room down the hall, two of the students have broken off from the group and have begun freeing mice from their cages. The security guards who are bummed that they had to work on Saturday have rigged the monitors to play the football game and snuck in some beer. In the embryo transfer room, Ronald, an overlooked, disgruntled, intellectual explains how new strains of mice are created while Jason, the handsome mouse communications researcher, explains how mice communicate through high pitched sounds that are imperceptible to the human ear. Jason makes snarky comments causing the students to laugh during Ronald’s presentation. After the group leaves, Jason flirts with Rachel and shows her how he has rigged his Blackberry cell phone to work as a mouse communication device. They hear a loud thud in the room next door only to find that a large ceiling fan has fallen and beheaded Peter, the brain researcher. The mice have escaped. Rachel tries to call security but the mice have chewed all of the wires and the two students have tied up the guards. After the students leave thousands of mice finish off the guards by chewing them to death. In the break room a group of students have taken over explaining they are from the AFO, Animal Freedom Organization and are letting all the mice out of their cages. As the mice escape they become vengeful and form groups, killing the researchers, workers, students, as well as the AFO, mimicking the ways their brothers had died. One goes by eye bleeding, another by autoclave, another by cage wash, and another by the removing of her uterus. Rachel and Jason try to save the other workers and students and escape but the facility is on automatic lockdown. Jason discovers that Ronald has been injecting the mice with human DNA giving them human intelligence and emotions. The mice begin worshiping Ronald like a god and he begins helping them with the killing. Eventually the rest of the students are locked in a room and gassed to death. Just as Rachel and Jason begin to bond, he is killed in a fight with Ronald. Ronald and the mice are about to kill Rachel by injecting her with multiple syringes when she figures out how to communicate with the mice to save her and kill Ronald. The mice begin fighting amongst themselves by color or type and the only way out becomes to use the oxygen piping system to blow up the entire facility to keep the mice from the general population.
