Leandra Ryan was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Ever since she was a child, she has always had an overwhelming amount of ambition and determination. She spent much of her childhood competing in gymnastics and training in ballet. During her high school years, Leandra was a member of a pre-professional ballet company where she kept up an intense schedule of classes, rehearsals, and performances. During her last two years of high school, she also added competitive cheerleading and film acting classes to the mix. Leandra got her first taste of living in Los Angeles the summer before her senior year when she studied acting for film at New York Film Academy at Universal Studios. She then graduated as valedictorian of her high school class.
Leandra’s next stop was the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Radio-TV-Film. During her college years, Leandra explored every aspect of the filmmaking process while continuing her acting endeavors outside of the university. She spent almost every summer in Los Angeles, studying film acting at New York Film Academy for a second term and interning at Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting and Catchphrase Entertainment. The only exception was her final college summer, when she chose to study French at the University of Paris-Sorbonne in Paris, France, and explore Europe. Throughout her four years at UT, Leandra maintained her place on the Dean’s List nearly every semester as well as her membership in the Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma honors society.
The day after graduating from UT, Leandra made her way to Los Angeles. This time, the move was permanent. She has since been busy working on some wonderful projects and taking classes with renowned instructors at schools such as Margie Haber Studio, Upright Citizens Brigade, and the Groundlings School. Leandra also performs regularly in Los Angeles with her two hilarious improv teams, Commonwealth and Minibar.
