SYNOPSIS:

This is a story about faith and overcoming challenges to faith. It purports that there is no sin too big to be forgiven and no soul that can’t be saved. When life threw Secret Service Agent Ruby St. John curveballs, she lost faith in herself and turned her back on God. When she was assigned to recover a fortune in stolen gold coins; the “Saints,” she knew she’d screw up. Then she met Jagger, Cora, and Schichi, a trio of contract killers. Jagger, an anarchist with Tourettes, preferred explosives for assassinations. Cora, an overweight trailer park red neck, could make a head shot from five hundred yards. Schichi, an African-American transgender obsessed with the number seven, was a virtuoso at killing with a knife. The trio of killers worked for “the Dentist”, an international murder broker in Hong Kong. His contracts took them to Bangkok, Acapulco, and Berlin. The Dentist hired the trio to steal the Saints, intent on double-crossing a Ukrainian billionaire so he could buy his way out of the murder-for-hire game. Terrorists (no connection to the Dentist) attacked the Secret Service convoy transporting the Saints on the George Washington Bridge in New York. Elias Abraham, Ruby’s superior and harshest critic, was critically wounded. Despite her self-doubt, Ruby found herself in charge of recovering the Saints. Jagger, Cora, and Schichi tracked the terrorists through a hurricane to a warehouse in the Bronx, but before they could get away with the Saints, Ruby took everybody into custody (Saints, terrorists and the trio). When the warehouse suddenly flooded, Ruby escaped with the trio and the Saints. The terrorists gave chase, cornered them in a flooded parking garage. Ruby had to choose between the three killers and the Saints. She left the Saints for the terrorists. Ruby was sure she had screwed up again, that her career is over. Strangely grateful, the trio offered the lead her to the Saints. They intercepted the terrorists at a barbershop: all dead, no Saints. An extra body cued the trio that the Dentist was involved. The story shifts from New York to Hong Kong. Because he had reneged on a contract to kill the Ukrainian, a Russian special ops team attacked the Dentist’s headquarters. The Dentist’s security crew won the battle with the Russians, but then he murdered the last of his crew, leaving him the only one who knew where the Saints were hidden. The trio of killers seemed to betray Ruby, but her faith in them recovered. They led her to the Saints, but the Dentist did not give up without a fight. She called to God for strength but the Dentist beat her down. The Dentist didn’t live to complete his delivery, but the Ukrainian got the Saints anyway. Ruby chased the Ukrainian through the streets of Hong Kong, clinging to the roof of his SUV, landing in a sand pile when the SUV crashes. She tried to save the Ukrainian, but he invited her to join him in hell, then fell to his death. Ruby recovered the Saints. Back in New York, self-confident and firm in her faith, Ruby reconnects with Jagger, Cora, and Schichi, cleared of their crimes, their sins forgiven.
