About Samantha

Samantha Shada’s narrative short films, Beauty School and Sexless, both premiered at the Oscar Qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival before screening at festivals across the US. Both are now available internationally on ShortsTV with DirecTV. Her music videos appeared at festivals in Boston, Los Angeles and beautiful Idyllwild, CA. She also directs and produces theatre in Los Angeles while sitting on the board of incubator Brimmer St. Theatre Co.

Sam grew up in the mountains of Colorado and the plains of Nebraska. After completing her film degree at Emerson College and landing in California she worked with notable companies such as the William Morris Agency, the United Talent Agency, Universal Pictures, Overbrook Entertainment, and Sony Pictures Studios. An activist for women in her industry, Sam remains a member of the Alliance of Women Directors and programs Seeking Our Story, a screening series featuring influential films directed by women.
