Meikl was born and raised in St. Johann in the Tyrolean Alps. In his early years he realized that being part of the parents carpentry company would not do it for him. First he started out as a journalist after his International Business Studies (major marketing) but soon changed to acting.
He received 5 years of professional training at the Open Acting Academy in Vienna (Austria) and Hamburg (Germany).
He gave his stage debut 2007 as Gert Heinrichs in the drama "Ferne Nähe", written and directed by Stephan Perdekamp, at the "blackbox theatre" in Vienna (Austria) and worked ever since on stages in Austria and Germany.
First appearance in a feature film 2013 with "Die Toten reiten schnell" by Lukas Väth.
Starting end of August 2013 Meikl will be working as an actor and assistant director at the German theater "Westfälisches Landestheater" at Castrop-Rauxel in North Rhine-Westphalia.
