About Jefferson

The son of above-average suburbanites, Jefferson McClure found escape from the crushingly bad taste of late-1980s America through the worship of personal heroes ranging from the transcendentally weird David Lynch and Terry Gilliam to the sublimely silly John Hughes and "Savage" Steve Holland. Inspired to become a rule-breaking filmmaker, he dedicated himself to learning the rules in order to follow them in a slavish, yet ironically hip fashion. To this end, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Humanities from University of Colorado, where he studied many a great and powerful film while occasionally making terrible and quickly forgotten ones. Forced to "find a real job" to repay monumental student loans, he misspent his young adulthood building a solidly respectable career in technical and marketing writing. Frustrated by his middle-aged self's complacency, Jefferson's younger self jumped into a 1985 DeLorean, traveled 24 years into the future, and promptly unraveled a sweater in time and space. Inspired, Jefferson turned his attention to screenwriting, typing up his first feature-length screenplay using online help authoring software.

Armed with his recently obtained MFA in Professional Screenwriting, Jefferson is 44 and lives in Denver...unless you got something better.
